Obituary

Harry George Lloyd Albert Johnson

Predeceased by his wife Marilyn, father Harry, mother Muriel and sister Patricia.

Survived by his son Craig, his wife Deborah and their daughters Naomi and Alison, his siblings, and many other relatives.

He went by the name George.

Born in Dawson Creek B.C. on September 4, 1936, He Moved to Calgary Alberta when his father joined the Army. Later the family moved to Vancouver.

He enjoyed sports especially playing Football.

He was a diligent worker on the Tugboats going up and down the Fraser River.

He went to the University of British Columbia earning a Civil Engineering Degree.

In his spare time, he got a Pilot’s license.

He loved to fly but only if he was the pilot.

He worked his way on a freighter going to Australia.

He worked as an Engineer in Australia where he met his first wife Judy and soon after became a family with the addition of their son Craig.

George decided to move back to Canada in 1990.

George got re-married to Marilyn in 1991.

He first lived in White Rock then bought a farm in Cawston, then moved to Penticton, then Keremeos and finally back to Penticton.

During his years that he had returned to B.C. his son Craig and Deb got married and later blessed George with two granddaughters Naomi and Alison

While in BC he was very enterprising with helping to build a Cabin, doing some work as an Engineer, had a farm, loved to fish, and spend time with family.

When my family was young, we would always take part in our summer vacation in Penticton.

For the years that George and Marilyn had the farm we would drive out one year to a Greenhouse business, the next year the greenhouses were gone, and he had tree fruit and ground crops then the following year I drove over a cattle guard and was wondering what my brother was up to now

When I saw the cattle, I asked George if he was now raising Beef. He said no that they were all pets.

Marilyn has named them all and the cattle keeps his dog Boots exercised.

Sadley, we lost Marilyn in 2005.

In George’s later years, he moved back to Penticton. Jenifer Liew his long-time friend cared and supported Geoge for many years. Our family is grateful for that.

There will be a Celebration of Life for George

at St. Savior’s Anglican Church

150 Orchard Avenue, Penticton
