Aline Emilienne Foss
September 28, 1941 - November 19, 2023
Obituary
Aline Emilenne Marie Foss passed away on November 19, 2023 in Princeton, BC due to pneumonia. As her health began to decline over the past few years her family was there to offer their support. Her loving husband and partner for more than 59 years, was holding her hand and she was surrounded by family when she passed.
She was born to the late Elie & Augustine Martel, September 28, 1941 in Pine Falls, MB. Aline completed high school in the late 50’s. She continued her education throughout her life, including attending the Yellowhead Regional Education Consortium.
She married Arthur Milton Foss in Edmonton, AB on April 29, 1967. Aline is survived by Arthur Foss of Keremeos, BC; children Carrie Foss of Penticton; Byron Foss (Sue Ozon) of Stony Plain, and although not her biological daughter, her daughter of the heart, Lana Foss of Kelowna, BC. Aline had many grand-children Kate-Lynn Neilson (Trevor), Haven Foss, Caleb Foss, Abigail Brochu, Manda Foss (Curtis Girard), Jared Boyce, Kyle Boyce, Jenna Boyce, Tatiana Wicik, and Levi Wicik. Great-grandchildren, Emily Barker (Chance DesJardine), Keagan Girard, Mia Cheng and Dawson Boyce. Great-great-grandchildren Aksel and Aria DesJardine.
Aline was predeceased by her father, Eli Martel, brothers Jules and Leo Martel, son Blair Foss in July 2002, mother Augustine Martel, and sisters Julie, Lucille and Yvette.
Aline was a woman of many talents. Her love of cooking was well-known, and her kitchen often referred to as “Aline’s Restaurant” as she always asked what you wanted to eat and served it to you. Aline enjoyed shopping and often gifted her loved ones with unique gifts. Her motto was “I always save my husband money – I never miss a sale!”
Aline’s biggest passion was her love of music and singing. She began singing at age 2 with her older brother Joe playing guitar. In the late 70’s Art gave her an autoharp which she taught herself how to play. For over 50 years Aline entertained others with her beautiful voice, often performing for friends and at family functions.
A funeral service will be held at the St. Albert Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Albert, AB on May 18, 2024 at 1pm. A Celebration of Life will follow in the lower church afterward.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice or the Canadian Lung Society.
