Obituary

After  long, brave and valiant battle, Andrew Sidney Hawe passed away on March 25^th, 2024 at the age of 64. Remembered fondly as a devoted husband, loving father, son, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and nephew. Loved and missed by his wife Josie; sons Matthew (Danielle) and Justin; grandchildren Hayley, Olivia, Addisyn, Franklin and Zia; sister Susie, brother-in-law Dan and brother Daniel; nieces Nicole, Michaela and Glynnis. Pre-deceased by his parents Ethel and Sid. A kind man with a warm heart and an infectious chuckle, Andrew will always be thought of with a smile and miss by all who knew him. Andrew was an accomplished athlete and an avid golfer. He loved being active, which was never more evident than when he completed the Hawaii Ironman in 1985 (finishing 28^th for all Canadians in 11:36:13, 95^th in his age group and 300^th overall). Hockey was a particular favourite sport, whether playing himself or cheering on his sons from the bench or stands. Our lives will never be the same in his absence. There will always be an empty seat at our table for him (with a cup of tea and a butter tart or two). Forever loved and missed!
