Antonie ("Tony") Adriaan Van't Geloof

Obituary

Antonie (Tony) Van’t Geloof of Penticton, beloved husband of Jacoba (Joan) Van’t Geloof, passed away peacefully after an illness on November 5th, 2022 at the age of 88 years.

Tony was born on April 24th, 1934 in Lage Zwaluwe, Netherlands, to parents Maria and William Van’t Geloof, and came to Canada in 1954 where he married Joan in 1955. He had his schooling in Holland and worked in a shipyard there. In Canada (Edmonton), he had several jobs until he started his own drywall and building business. His favourite activities were mostly going to church and spending time with his family. Later he served on building communities and Christian school committees, including coaching hockey teams in both Edmonton and Langley. He ran a successful building business in Penticton and was also involved with many charities.

Besides his loving wife, Jacoba (Joan), Tony is survived by his two daughters Joan, and Patricia (Dennis), his three sons Bill (Yurdle), John (Heidi), and Anthony (Sarah). He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Nickeisha, Ashlin, Aimee, Stephanie, Aaron, Jeremy, Melanie, Nikki, Jared, Ricky, Lawrence, and Deanna. Tony is missed as well by his brother Ad, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Tony was predeceased by his parents, William and Maria Van’t Geloof.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 12th, 2022 at the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church located at 397 Martin Street in Penticton; the service will be officiated by Reverend. Colin Cross. All are welcome to attend.
