Obituary
Betty Anne Wright passed away on Monday May 1st at her home in BC surrounded by her family. Betty fought a lengthy battle with cancer for over 10 years. Betty was born in in Weyburn Saskatchewan in 1954 and was one of twelve kids who grew up on the farm outside of Ceylon Saskatchewan. At the age of 17 Betty decided to move to Calgary where she met the love of her life Lloyd, who she married in 1972.
In 1980 Lloyd and Betty moved to Provost Alberta where they would live until 1995. While in Provost Betty worked as the school administrator for Saint Thomas Aquinas (STA) school and then administrator at the hospital. While working at the STA, Betty became close friends with Doris, Ellen, Kathy and Claire. She remained friends with the ‘girls’ over the years and they traveled together on many adventures including Hawaii, Las Vegas, and PEI.
In 1995 Betty and Lloyd moved to Penticton BC. Betty was passionate about her work at the OSNS child development center. Family came first for Betty, but she always had time for great friends. Betty was an avid tennis player and enjoyed time spent with Al, Judy, Tucker, Linda and Miles.
Betty is survived by her husband of 50 years Lloyd, her daughter Shelley (Masato) and grandkids June and Kai. Her son Bryan (Tamara) and grandkids Justin, Ethan, Cohen and Lincoln. Her son Sean (Daniel). She was survived by several siblings including Maretta, Allen, Nadine, Marla, and Cheryl.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 10th, 2pm at the Rec Center at Skaha Benches (3948 Finnerty Road) Penticton, BC. If you would like to make a donation in Betty’s memory, please donate to the OSNS child development center https://www.osns.org/donate
