Obituary
Brian Terry of Penticton, BC, beloved husband of Maureen Terry, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2022 at the age of 83 years at Moog and Friends Hospice House.
Brian was born in Nottingham, England in 1939, 2nd youngest of 10 children. Brian emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1980, transferred to Edmonton, AB in 1981 and brought his family over while his oldest son Paul remained in England. Brian’s lifelong passion of music took him around Europe and the United States where he played professionally in his young career. He started playing lead guitar but had to teach himself steel guitar when an accident took the tip of his finger. Brian also loved horseback riding and made many back country trips in the Rocky Mountains with friends living the cowboy dream. After working with The Greater Edmonton Foundation, he retired in 1996 and moved to Nakusp, BC where Brian and Maureen started a business “Bear Ridge Cabins” and built 4 log cabins, they welcomed their first guests in January 1998. After selling the vacation cabins in Nakusp, BC and moving to Penticton, BC. Brian and Maureen enjoyed the snowbird life, spent many winters in Arizona where they met numerous friends enjoying the Arizona sun.
Brian is survived by his wife of 59 years, son Paul (Anne) of England, Russell (Nora) of Edmonton, AB, grandchildren Julie of Edmonton, AB, Abby of England, Mathew of Edmonton, AB, great-granddaughter Lily of Edmonton, AB, sister Edna of Peterborough, ON, brother Ron of England, brother Albert (Joan) of England, sister Jean (Bernard) of Penticton, BC, sister Janice of England, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends throughout Canada, United States, Australia and United Kingdom.
Brian was predeceased by his parents Jack and Violet, brothers John, Bill, sisters Kathleen and Margaret.
It was Brian’s wish for cremation with no service. Brian will be forever in our hearts.
