Charles Thornley Waddington
March 25, 1936 - July 23, 2022
Obituary
Penticton has lost a respected and appreciated member of the community.
Chuck Waddington passed away on July 23, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. But not before leaving an indelible mark on many lives, first as a long-time high school teacher and hockey coach in Barrie, ON and then as a tireless volunteer in his new home of Penticton, BC.
Meals on Wheels, Citizens on Patrol, the local skating rink and the Penticton Hospital were all beneficiaries of Chuck’s volunteer time and charismatic personality. Truly, he was the embodiment of community and many will miss him.
Besides an admirable legacy, Chuck leaves behind his dear sister Lynda Fischer, his nephew Rick, his three children, his three grandchildren and his beloved dog Bentley.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please consider donating some time to an organization that holds meaning for you.

“Chuckie” will be greatly missed. I often had the pleasure of chatting with him as his “corner” was around the corner from our office. No matter what the day, he always without fail brightened it.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful spirit with us all.

My conversations with Chuck in the hallway were the highlight of my day! He was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed here in the PRH Physiotherapy department.

Sad to hear of Chucks passing. I was always greeted by him with a smile at the hospital and around town. He first volunteered at the Cardiology unit where I met him. The hospital and the community of Penticton will miss him. Wishing the family my deepest condolences.
