I am so sorry for your loss. I haven’t seen Dean since I was a little kid but I will always have good memories of going to his acreage after the Newberry baseball games. I remember what a nice man he was.

I met Dean in the late 50s and early 60s. He was living with a family on the farm near Keeler, Sask. My parents and his foster parents were good friends so we saw a lot of each other. I again met up with Dean when we were both working in Port Alberni BC in 1966. I didn’t see him again until the early 70s when he had married and was living on an acreage just south of Moos Jaw across the road from Jones. I would probably have met his daughter there but I don’t remember her. After that I lost touch with Dean and often wondered what had become of him.I wish to express my condolences and wish you well. Dean was a character and I remember him from him and Karen playing on the Newberry Slow Pitch team that all of us were on it.   Sonja remember the good times and your Dad will always be with you.

Godspeed my friend. This man was an adventure. We had fun, danced many nights away, laughed such belly laughs, held grandchildren, we were Jose and Goldie in Mexico, we were Italians running a restaurant, but most of all I will cherish the goodness and patience he had with my kids. I know him and Don are in a garage somewhere in heaven having a drink. Too many memories to share. I send my love to you Sonya, Jason, Jesse and Kyra.
