Obituary

Mom passed away peacefully with her children by her side. Born in Rossdorf, Germany, Betty or Liesel, as she was affectionately called, led an interesting life. She trained as a nurse and learned English in England while working as a governess. Returning to Germany to work in a Canadian military hospital, she met her future husband, George. Married to a military man, sixteen postings led her throughout Europe and Canada. Dressing stylish, she was always on the hunt for jewelry and clothes.  Her sense of humour carried her everywhere as she loved talking to people – especially if they had dogs – as she loved animals. Reading, dancing, music, entertaining, and baking were some of her passions. We always left home with her delicious baking or she mailed her baking to us. Lovingly remembered by her children: Linda, Diane and Ed (Deb); her grandchildren Derek (Terri), Rachel (Duffy), Clifford, Gillian, Nicole (Alex), and Danielle (Levi); her great grand-children Sienna, Ayla, Lincoln, Talon, Grayson, Avery, Dakota, Carrero and great grand-daughter on the way. Mom was predeceased by her parents Karl and Anna; her stepbrother Karl-Heintz and her son-in-law Mike.

Mom, we will miss you deeply.
