Emilie Rozella Schill-Lyon (Lamothe)

Obituary
It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the passing of our wonderful and caring mother, grandmother, and “GG”, Emilie Rozella Schill-Lyon. Born in Val Marie, Saskatchewan to Laura and Emile Lamothe, Emilie and her family moved to Penticton in 1964. Emilie worked at the Valley First Credit Union until she retired in 1994. After retiring, Emilie enjoyed her many years wintering in Arizona. Mom’s many enjoyable times were family BBQ’s, get together with friends, puzzles, curling, golfing, playing piano, and the visits to the casino. Emilie is survived by her 3 Children, Bill (Colleen) Schill, Donna (Alvin) LaLonde, Cindy (Gary) Apolzer; 3 Stepchildren, Brett (Gayle), Steve (Jane), Debra Lee; 7 Grandchildren, Ryan, Danielle, Chelsey, Nicole, Blake, Tamara, Brad, and 16 Great-Grandchildren. Emilie was predeceased by parents Emile and Laura Lamothe, husbands Phil Schill (1955 – 2004) and Eric Lyon (2014 – 2021), and brother Lloyd. Emilie always felt blessed to have a beautiful family and wonderful friends. You will be truly missed by all who knew you. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel. Love forever and always.
Celebration of Life is Saturday, October 1st at 2:30 PM at the Penticton Golf and Country Club.

Shocked and deeply saddened to hear of her passing away. We shared Saturday’s laundry time chit chatting. Got her the stephanotis plant in memory of Eric. Tried cheering her up by getting her out of her suite and socializing more. Happy to see her going to the Casino, playing puzzles and enjoying playing the piano. She will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Lovely Lady.

Bill Donna and Cindy. I only heard today of your moms passing when I tried to call for her birthday. I have many wonderful memories of our visits to your home when we were all much younger. I was so pleased when your mom visited us in Regina a few years ago and then always made sure to call all of the Lamothe siblings for our birthdays with a yearly catch up of our families.
