Obituary
Erwin Ernest Ploner of Penticton, BC, beloved husband of Ofelia Ploner. Father of Chris Ploner (Spouse Allison) and Mark Ploner (Spouse Laura) and grandfather to Abagale (Chris), Olivia (Chris), Keira (Mark), and Mackenzie (Mark). Passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 79 years. Born on June 21, 1944, by his parents Elizabeth and Alois Ploner in Zell am See, Austria. After he immigrated to Canada, Erwin attended the University of Winnipeg where he met his wife of 54 years. A recognized member of the business community, he owned Penticton Rental Centre for several years, prior to moving to sales for the local radio stations. Erwin was avid skier and golfer. He was also involved with Gyro Club, Rotary Club, Masons, and Knights of Columbus to name a few. A Celebration of Erwin’s life will be held on Saturday November 25, 2023 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 361 Wade Avenue, Penticton, BC at 11:00 am. Erwin’s been a pleasant, welcoming personality to everyone he has encountered for the over 40 years I’ve made Penticton my home. Always wearing a smile with a hint of mischief, gregarious, welcoming and living in the present moment Erwin was a delight to visit with on the happy occasion our paths crossed. RIP buddy, you will be missed!

Erwin was such a great man! Erwin always had the time to chat and was such a cherished community member. I always enjoyed our chats at the radio station way back when, in community and more recently at CDN Tire. Definitely fine memories of the great guy he was!
