Barb and Shelley, I was saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. My memories of her in our childhood and early teenager years was that she was one of the ‘cool’ parents. My fondest memories are of the many sleepovers at your home and the Greyhound trips to visit you all in Saskatchewan. I especially remember the sleepovers at your place on 82st. Barb, your mom never gave us grief when we arrived far too late past curfew! She was simply the best second-mom a girl could ask for growing up. Ethel will forever have a piece of my heart. Hugs to you both during this difficult time.

Dear Barb , Shelley & family
Ethel was like a mother to us especially Barry & Terry. Our children thought she was the greatest grandmother ever. All of us received hand made quilts or baby blankets that were made with so much love. My grand daughter just loves her purple flowered quilt. My dad & your mom made many a trip to Alberta & Saskatchewan with the best B.C. fruit there was. My co workers that met your mom want to send you condolences. She was a very hard working & kind lady. I miss her phone calls & visits. Her & I always spent one day of my holiday shopping in Ok Falls & Penticton when we came to BC. Doug would always tell her a joke to make her laugh. This is a very sad time for all of you. Just remember the love she had for all of you. If the rest of the world put kindness & love into the world like she did there would be no more wars or discrimination .
