Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Helga Erna Friedrich on Monday Dec. 19,2022, at the age of 79 in Penticton, BC. A celebration of life will be in the spring of 2023 in Penticton, BC, followed by an interment at the North Battleford Cemetery at a later date.Her memory will be forever cherished by her surviving children and spouses: Heidi (Terry) Wild of Pentiction, BC, Erika Friedrich of Kelowna, BC, Andy (Janey) Friedrich of North Battleford, SK & Marty (Angie) Friedrich of Battleford, SK; 5 grandchildren Ross McGibbon(Taylor Peterson) of Quesnel, BC, Rod McGibbon of Quesnel, BC, Hayden(Jesse) Friedrich of North Battleford, SK, Colton Friedrich of Kelowna, BC and Colby Friedrich of Battleford, SK. and her great granddaughter Ainsley McGibbon along with her beloved cousin Holgar (Peggy Mausch) of Saskatoon, SK.Helga is predeceased by her loving husband Hermann Friedrich(1990); parents Herta (Ernst) Kinner 2001, Gerhard F. Ernst(1971); brother Harold Ernst(1977); granddaughter Megan Paige Friedrich 2017.Helga was born in Hamburg, Germany, and at age 12, moved to North Battleford, SK, where she met the love of her life, Hermann. Helga worked at North Battleford City Hall in the utility department and then at the North Battleford Fire Department until she retired and settled in Penticton, BC in 1994 where she lived until her passing. Helga had many loves in life; cooking, gardening, German music, but nothing came close to the love she had for all the people in her life. She had this sparkle in her eye when talking about Ross, Rod, Hayden, Megan Colton & Colby. A very special thank you goes out to all of her neighbors in the Red Wing development where she lived.
