Henry Friesen

March 30, 1954 - March 14, 2024

Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry George Friesen on March 14, 2024, at the age of 69 years in Penticton, B.C.

Henry Friesen was born to Frank and Marie Friesen on March 30, 1954, in Grand Prairie, Alberta. Henry was the second oldest of ten children. Brothers and sisters are Julie, Marlene, Muriel, Abe, Maxine, Alma, Jesse, Gloria, and Sonya. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Abe and sister Julie.

Henry graduated from Ridgevalley School in Crooked Creek, Alberta, and worked and lived in the Yukon Territory for many years. This is where he met his ex-wife, Geri, and his children Robyn and Kellin were born and raised.

He worked with Pelley Contractors for many years in road construction. In later years, he moved back to Alberta and then to Oliver, B.C., and then settled down in Penticton, B.C.

He loved the warm weather, fruit trees, floating the canal, as well as the Peach Festival in the summer. Henry had a great sense of humor and was a very thoughtful and loving person. He was dearly loved by his family and friends, especially his children, Robyn and Kellin, and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. He will be missed.
