From: Kettle Valley Memorial Services

The Kettle Valley Memorial staff send our condolences to family and friends.

From: Rachel Chen and David Murray
Relation: Friends and through church.

We knew Janina from Kehillath Tsion in Vancouver, who was involved with the Messianic Dance group there, which she taught and was very passionate about it. Janina loved to walk through the tables at the luncheons and was very effective at recruiting new people for our dance group – a pretty hard act to follow! She was an important person in my life, and I wouldn’t have realized that I could dance if she hadn’t have come to my table, and invited me with her ever-persuasive and welcoming manner! She was a great teacher, mentor, and friend to me. We had so much fun working on new worship dances at Kehillath and sometimes even at her home in Vancouver. I cherish the memories of our chats when driving her home after Saturday dance practices. After she was no longer able to dance, she made a point of watching us practice whenever she could. It just shows how much she loved to dance. She often encouraged me to walk table to table to invite people too… I did try a few times but never achieved the same results. Janina had challenges in her life, and she endeavored to overcome them with her faith, determination, and trust in the Lord. I will surely miss her and look forward to dancing with her in heaven one day! We greatly appreciate her contribution to our community!

Our condolences, David Murray and Rachel Chen.

Janina was a student support worker at Moberly Elementary School for many years and although I did not work with her directly, I had many opportunities to chat with her over the years in my role as a classroom teacher. She had a reputation of being very thorough and detailed in her work and first and foremost cared a lot for all the students she worked with directly and indirectly at Moberly. She worked hard for her students day in day out. She often talked about her own family and was a great mother as well. She was greatly respected in our school community and we will miss her greatly. My sincerest condolences to the family !

Janina was a genuine, strong and fiery woman who felt and loved deeply. She was a firm yet kind teacher and a caring friend. I will cherish her laughter and warm, tight hugs always. Janina lived her life according to her values and principles and was a passionate defender of justice which I respected very much. Upon our first meeting, Janina cut straight to the point and asked me point blank if I believed in God. She was a stunningly beautiful woman of unshakable faith. To her family and friends I send my sincere condolences.

I knew Janina from working with her at Moberley Elementary, where we were both support workers. I feel lucky that during that time I got to know Janina and witness her unique spark and care for the students she supported and community she was part of. I’m saddened to hear of her passing and send my heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.

Janina had a good soul. I cherish the memories of her laughters and chats while driving her home or to the students she taught after school. May her Rest In Peace.
