Obituary
Joanne Elizabeth Wallin(Husband) of Penticton BC, loving wife and soulmate of Elroy, passed away peacefully at Westview Extended Care the morning of January 26th at the age of 85 years. Joanne was born April 24th, 1935 at the Haven Hill hospital to Fred and Evelyn Husband, residing in Penticton her whole life. Mom loved her family dearly, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved a good laugh, her home and being in her yard. She loved her pets, nice clothes and oh how she loved shoes! Besides her loving husband Elroy of 66 years, Joanne is survived by sons Richard (Pam), Gregory and daughters Deanna Bate, Susan Hatfield (Gary), Leslie Scott (Don) and daughter-in-law Janice Wallin. Also survived by grandchildren Chris(Polly), Kara(Pat), Casey(Emelia), Lauren(Sheldon), Jayme(Sam), Lindsay(Tracy), Jessica(Ed), Maddison as well as her brother Bert(Cathy) and family and twelve great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Evelyn and Fred. We are absolutely heartbroken, buoyed only in knowing her journey with dementia has ended and she is free. Rest easy mom. The family wishes to thank the staff and management of Westview South for their compassionate care and kindness and also thank you to Village by the Station. No service at this time due to COVID restrictions. Flowers gratefully declined, those who wish, could make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of your choice.

Joanne and Elroy were my neighbours for many years. We visited often on the patio or the around the kitchen table while they ate their breakfast. Elroy told many stories as Joanne and I listened intently, We laughed and joked and shared our lives, I could see how they loved each other and how patient they were with each other. Joanne will be missed by all that knew her. Condolences to the family.
