June Dolores White

June 12, 1936 - November 1, 2023

Obituary

June Dolores White passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Born June 12, 1936 in Winnipeg Manitoba, Dolores moved to Vancouver BC at a young age where she completed her public schooling and then entered into the Royal Canadian Air Force. With her fierce spirit, Dolores became one of the first female air traffic controllers in British Columbia. She met and married her husband Bill and they spent several years travelling the world. In 1997, Dolores suffered a serious stroke. Despite her resulting physical impairments, her spirit and strong will always shone through – right up to her last moment. She had a wonderful sense of humor and everyone who knew her enjoyed her quick wit and kindness. Dolores is predeceased by her husband of 26 years, Bill, who passed away January 2017. Her extended family will miss her dearly.

She spent her last few years in complex care at the Hamlets in Penticton, BC and we are very grateful for the support and care that she received during her time there.

In keeping with Dolores’ wishes, there will be no memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon would be greatly appreciated.
