June 20, 1945 – February 12, 2025
Lorne was born in Armstrong, BC – the second son of Elma & Bill Popowich, he resided there until he married Velva in August, 1966. They lived in many places over the years, raising their 3 children, Shada, Glen and Sheila. There were many good times and some not so good times over the years. Lorne loved his family deeply.
He leaves behind his wife Velva, children Shada Guardhouse, Glen (Amber) Popowich, Sheila (Dave) Mueller. His brother Alvin (Laura) Porter, Duane (Jackie) Popowich. Grandchildren Sarah Guardhouse, Aaron (Holly) Guardhouse, Allyson Popowich, Jacob (Ashlynn) Guardhouse, and 4 great grandchildren Lily, Mylia, Amare, and Paisley.
He was a kind and caring soul, always willing to help others however way he could. He enjoyed driving and spent many years as a truck driver. His hobbies included woodworking, camping, golf, fishing and a ruthless game of Aggravation. He loved to tease or pester people with his cheeky sense of humor.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
