Margaret (Marg) Thompson
November 18, 1922 - December 9, 2024
Obituary
Marg passed away peacefully with her daughters Donna Lee and Linda by her side. Marg lost Thorb, her husband of 60 years, in 2002. She was also the last of her nine siblings. Marg led a long and fulfilling life, all but the last seven years in Saskatchewan. Marg and Thorb loved golfing, curling, and playing bridge. Marg also ice-skated on Katepwa Lake and cross-country skied on the golf courses; she loved her winter sports. Mom continued to golf well into her 90s, and she never quit playing cards.
Linda’s years as a teacher gave her ample opportunities to spend time with Marg, and they became snowbirds together when Linda retired. However much time Donna Lee missed, because she was a nurse, was made up for these last seven years in Penticton. Donna Lee was best friend and caregiver to Marg.
Although Marg never had grandchildren, the girls did provide sons-in-law. Donna Lee’s husband Rob, and Linda’s husband Gary loved Marg, especially her sense of humour.
And now Marg has made her last putt, played her last card, drank her last gin, and called it a night!

Donna Lee, Linda and family: I was saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. She lived a long and and fruitful life. Your mom was always so friendly, out going and kind. Honestly both of your parents were great people. Your dad was a good athlete and grain buyer. I had heard your mom was a great figure skater. I remember your dad speaking to us kids at school for Remembrance Day. Donna Lee, you might remember this, I think I was in grade 6. I leaned in on every word. He told my mom that he had once captive audience of 1 (it was me). I also remember your folks held a card party at your place for us kids–they were good times. Donna Lee, in later years I enjoyed your visits to our place. Once again, my condolences on the passing of your mom, she was a lovely lady
