Obituary

Maria Woroniec

July 25th, 1937 – November 26th, 2024

Maria Woroniec passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 26, 2024.

She is survived and dearly missed by her children Elizabeth (Richard) and Thaddeus (Angela).

Her ultimate joy was spending time with her grandchildren Julie, James, Kevin, and Dawson, along with great-grandchildren Lena and Luiza.

She has left them with a wonderful legacy: a witty sense of humour, stories of her early years in Poland, her years in Montreal, and finally tales of Richmond, Naramata, and Penticton. Always up for adventure with Marian, they shared fishing trips for trout, mushroom picking, hunting trips and of course, cherry-picking from the trees in the garden.

She passed on her Polish traditions and had many friends in the community. We want to thank everyone who helped her and supported her and her husband Marian.

Friends at the condo building gave her a wonderful friendship. Fondly remembered by her Nieces and Nephews and relatives in Montreal, Alberta and the United States, she loved you all. She also had a very challenging life in the latter part but overcame many obstacles with her firecracker personality.

Sincere thanks to the nurses and doctors at Penticton Regional for all your care and support. Special thanks go out to the staff at Haven Hill for their understanding, care, and patience in caring for her.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 6th, 2024, at 11:00 am at Kettle Valley Memorial Services (#101 – 1873 Main Street, Penticton, BC.)
