Obituary

Marian Machtmes, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Marian was born in Blairmore Alberta. Loving wife to Charles (predeceased). Devoted mother to Beverly (Cary), Donna (David), Rodney (LoriAnn), Janice, Katherine (Laurence), and Michael. Loving grandmother to Carley, Ashley, Katie, Emily, Taylor, Michael, Elle, Morgan, Laura, and Jack. Proud great grandmother to Ava, Maddie, Ivy, Shepard, Paige, Brooke, Poet, and Alma. Loving sister to Frances Hatalcik and Eleanor Domville. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Marian was known for her unwavering love and dedication to her family. She selflessly put their needs above her own and cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her warm and caring nature touched the lives of many.

One of Marian’s passions was baking, and her delicious treats brought happiness to all those who enjoyed them. She was also an excellent cook and loved to write out her recipes with interesting anecdotes about their source and importance to her. In her years spent in Penticton Marian also found solace in her garden, cultivating beauty and tranquility in the world around her. Marian also enjoyed knitting several cozy blankets and sweaters for her family. Marian’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered fondly for her gentle spirit and the impact she had on those around her.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and gratitude of all who knew her. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Penticton Regional Hospital for their exceptional care especially Doctor Gans. In lieu of flowers to honour the incredible life of Marian, hold your family close and live each day with gratitude and love. Condolences to the family may be made through kettlevalleymemorial.com.
