Obituary
Murray Brian Bates of Penticton, beloved husband of Anna Marie Bates, passed away peacefully on April 29th, 2023 at the age of 66 years. Murray was loved by many; his sense of humour will be remembered by all his family and friends.
Besides his loving wife Anna, Murray is survived by his three daughters: Marion Prince (Bates), Trish Bendig (Pollington), and Daphne Drake (Atlee); one son, Ken Pollington; grandchildren Hannah Bendig, Nathan Bendig (Trish), Taylor Drake, Dylan Drake (Daphne), Abigail Pollington, Dominic Pollington, Annabelle Pollington (Ken), Jon Lamers, Jessie Lamers (Beth); one brother, Fred Bates; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and their families.
Murray was predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth Bates, as well as Kenneth Bates, Charlie Bates, Eileen Sivyer, Gerry Bates, Janet Winkle, Glen Bates, Leroy Bates, Jim Bates, and Don Bates.
Flowers are gratefully declined; for those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the BC Cancer Society, Moog and Friends Hospice House (Penticton, BC), or the Kidney Foundation of Canada (BC).

We didn’t see each other in person very often, and not at all since the move to the West Coast, but I will forever remember my Uncle Murray. He put the fun into family picnics, definitely! He was a kind and loving person, who really valued family. We will miss you.
