August 15, 1937 - October 6, 2024

Obituary

Nick Karogiannis was born to Yiannis and Chrysapho in the village of Schini, Greece on August 15, 1937. He passed away in Westbank, B.C. surrounded by his loving family on October 6, 2024.

Nick lived a full life. In Greece he worked as a chef, served in the military, and enjoyed dancing. He immigrated to Canada in 1969 where he established himself as a realtor and chef from Manitoba to B.C. A highlight of his career was being Executive Chef for Princess Margaret in Saskatoon, SK on her Royal Tour in 1980.

Nick loved sports, gardening, sitting in the sun with a Greek coffee, backgammon, cooking, and talking on the phone to his family in Greece. Nick leaves behind a large extended family in Greece, including  his two brothers Panagiotis (Maria) and Yorgos. In Canada he leaves behind his loving wife, Susan and their children, Chris (Tara) , Demetri (Vicki), Andreana (Ameer), Maria (Jeff), and Gregory, along with Chrys, John, Frank, and Jenn. He was also a proud Papou to ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be held for Nick in spring/summer 2025. Please reach out to the family for more details.
