Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Gustavson; a devoted wife, a beloved Mother, a vibrant grandmother, a compassionate friend and an Aunty to many.
Ruth was born on July 8, 1937 in Fenwood, Saskatchewan to Louis and Frieda Schindel. Her family relocated to Summerland, BC in 1947 where Ruth graduated from High School and forever formed her identity as a Summerland Girl.
She met the love of her life, best friend, and soul mate in 1956 and she and Al were married in 1957. Ruth and Al raised two children and Ruth was an ever-present feature in her family up until the day of her passing.
Ruth lived her life with a focus on her family, and she will be forever cherished and remembered for her consistent love and attention throughout the years. Ruth never missed recognising a loved one’s milestone, and she put in great effort to be part of those occasions no matter the distance.
Ruth loved living and she made things matter for all of us. We will miss her warm hugs, caring thoughts, and practical guidance.
