Dear Tom & family,
We want to extend our condolences to you & your family on Sharon’s passing.  She was a dear friend, always stopping to chat for several minutes when we met on her way to the centre with her scooter.  One could always go to her with our concerns for advice.  She will be sorely missed for her dedication to mental health in Penticton for so many years.

Dear Tom and Family
On behalf of the Public Policy Committee of the BC Schizophrenia Society (provincial) we want to extend our sincere condolences for your loss. Sharon is our loss too. She was our Co-Chair with me. She brought to our Committee her wisdom and dedication from her many years working in Riverview Hospital (where I also worked) and in the community. Her dedication continued as a volunteer. What endeared Sharon to me as well was that she took the minutes of our sometimes convoluted discussions. We will miss her. Thank you Sharon for all you have contributed to the recovery of people with serious mental illness and for their advocacy organizations.

My sincere condolences to Sharon’s family and friends. I worked with Sharon for 13 years, she was a driving force indeed. Her wisdom will be greatly missed by many. Rest in peace, my friend.

Sharon and I were both “Babes of the ’40s” born in Thunder Bay. Sharon’s dedication and commitment to individuals and families coping with serious mental illness was unparalleled. She will be greatly missed by her community, and my heart goes out especially to her family at this difficult time.

I am so very sorry to learn of Sharon’s passing.  My deepest and sincerest condolences go to her husband Tom and her entire family.  She was a force beyond words and was a ferious advocate for all those suffering with mental illness.  I know that she helped many families in Penticton and the surrounding area including Osoyoos, Keremeos, Princeton etc.  I admired her tenacity and strength.  She will be sadly missed by those whom she touched.  Heaven’s gate has welcomed a true angel….rest easy Sharon.
