Eric Charles Lyon

September 20, 1937 - December 13, 2021

Obituary

It is with a sad and heavy heart, that we announce the passing of a wonderful, caring man, Eric Charles Lyon. Born September 20, 1937,  in Montreal, Quebec  to Dorothy (Gibbs) Lyon and James Smith Lyon. Eric was predeceased by his parents and two brothers Norman and James. Eric is survived by his loving wife of 7 1/2 years, Emilie (Schill) Lyon, 3 children; Brett (Gayle) of Toronto, Steve (Jane) of Mission, and Debralee of Surrey, 3 Step Children; Bill (Coleen) of Abbotsford, Donna (Alvin) Lalonde and Cindy (Gary) Apolzer, all of Penticton, BC, one sister; Joan Ede, 12 Grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Eric was an accountant for a number of years, then became a camera man for CFTO TV in Toronto and had the opportunity to work with Kenny Rogers, Tina Turner, Glen Ford, Stompin’ Tom Connors and Rev. Billy Graham. Eric was a cowboy at heart, as a young man he did some bronco riding (no trophies, he would say, only bruises). He loved to travel and play the odd slot machine, but Eric’s greatest joy was his family. At family gatherings he would sit quietly and just smile watching all the goings on. He loved country music and dancing. “Happy Trails” Eric. You will be truly missed by your family and all who knew you.
